Burberry Brit Wax Fishtail Parka

Burberry Brit gives us a modern twist on the Mod look with the release of this waxed fishtail parka. The classic fishtail parka gained popularity in the 1960s as part of the requisite Mod look, along with sharply cut suits and scooters.

This modern take retains the signature fishtail, complete with drawstring, and hood, adding waxed cotton on the outside for durability and survival against the elements. Available online and at Burberry stores worldwide.

iPad Cases | Dunhill

For those early adopters, you know by know how fragile an iPad can be – thankfully Dunhill’s cases are a stylish solution. The iPad is nestled safely in this folder, which is faced with a letter addressed to Alfred Dunhill. A brilliant combination of technology with old world elegance.

iPad Cases | Tod's

Taking a look at this new set of iPad cases by Tod’s, we can’t help but feel we’ve definitely missed out on something special.

While the iPad itself is of questionable usefulness, it’s status as a style accessory for the young, rich and hip is unquestioned, and these very slick animal skin sleeves only further confirms that. Made from alligator skin, these are probably some of the nicest cases we’ve seen so far like, LV & Trussardi!

Halle Berry | September 2010 Issue | American Vogue

The most important cover of fashion magazines' most important month of the year may remind you of its editor: Halle Berry has exchanged her signature cropped hairstyle for a little Anna Wintour–esque bob on Vogue's September issue.
Berry is the first black woman to appear onVogue's September cover since Naomi Campbell in 1989 (Campbell was the first black woman ever to appear on the magazine's September cover). So Berry is the first black celebrity to enjoy the honor — and she looks gorgeous doing so.
We don't have our paper copy of the issue yet, so it's unclear if the lack of September cover-girl diversity is something Wintour will address in her editor's letter. The magazine has used the Internet (bravo!) to take a look back at the last ten September covers, but doesn't acknowledge that they all have white people on them. Berry briefly acknowledges her cover's significance in explaining why she finally agreed to do a big interview after being silent for so long:
The only reason she is submitting now, she says, is that Vogue made her an offer she couldn't refuse: the September cover. "What that means for a woman of color and what that means in the fashion world, what that means to pop culture, there was no way I could say, 'No, I'm not going to be on the biggest issue of the year.'"

Berry also fails to say anything truly provocative about her recent breakup with Gabriel Aubry (they're still friends, committed parents, love each other but are not IN love, etc.), which many speculated Vogue editors would count on for this issue. The magazine also left those bits off the cover, unlike the strangely tabloid-y treatment they gave Jennifer Aniston. But who cares about gossip when they can say they have 726 pages of fall fashion? It's quite a step up from last year's 584.

Goodluck : Venus Raj | Miss Universe 2010

On August 24 the coronation of the most coveted pageant in the world will be revealed. After the controversies, Maria Venus Raj, 22 years old from the Philippines will ramp her way to the crown on becoming the Philippines 3rd Miss Universe.

Well, I have never had high hopes since 1999 when Miriam Quiambao almost took the crown over Botswana, come on guys! Well, after all the hardships of Venus, let's just pray and hope she'll get it!

I am hearing good reviews about her in Las Vegas though but its just all songs in the wind until the finalists are revealed right? My relatives in Reno, Nevada already booked for the pageant! Yahoo!

Already saw the photo concept and I LVoe it except for the portrait which her laughlines were prominent and the golden earrings were too distracting. I am crossing my fingers!
