The C* Mentality

I believe in God, And I will not put is name in vain anymore by repeating it over and over again. But I have sinned for not practicing what our father's preached. I don't go to church and hear mass. It's been ages since my last confession and I am a sinner.

My way of igniting my spirit and my faith is by praying before going to sleep and after waking up (bad!), when I need help and assistance and reading DIDACHE.

Sigh!

I badly need Bro!

I read the passage from Didache and I know in one way or the other, we are guilty of that sin. CRAB MENTALITY. (referred to as crabs in the bucket, describes a way of thinking best described by the phrase "if I can't have it, neither can you." The metaphor refers to a pot of crabs. Singly, the crabs could easily escape from the pot, but instead, they grab at each other in a useless "king of the hill" competition which prevents any from escaping and ensures their collective demise. The analogy in human behavior is that of a group that will attempt to "pull down" (negate or diminish the importance of) any member who achieves success beyond the others, out of jealousy or competitive feelings.) from wikipedia.

" And from that day on, Saul was jealous of David" -1 Samuel 18:9

Because we live in a Thirld World country, we tend to have a scarcity mentality. When others are blessed, we're likely to be jealous unconsciously thinking that they're getting something that could possibly be ours. For example, when someone gets a promotion at work, instead of rejoicing with that person, you'll hear others say "sipsip kasi!" (kiss ass!) implying that corporate patronage was behind the move.

But God's blessing is for all. It's like the Niagara Falls with its mighty water rushing to the bottom. The water travels upstream first before it flows downstream but it eventually reaches its destination. Its falls generates so much mist that it projects a number of rainbows.

Like the waters of Niagara, God's blessing may seem to reach others first. We just have to stay thankful and faithful even as we persever in claiming His promises. And just as the rainbow is a symbol of God's covenant with His people. He is faithful in keeping his promises.

Reflection:

Do we always feel that the neighbor next door or our collegue is being blessed more than we are?

Me. Guilty!

We are all blessed I know, we just have to be more faithful that He will provide.

Missing New York

It's almost 6 months since my last New York flight, and I kinda miss it! Not because of our very challenging passengers but the layover itself. 27 hours is not bad.

You can go directly to Manhattan, The Bronx or even in Jersey if you have relatives.

But what I missed the most in New York is A&F. Abercrombie & Fitch stores. Very cozy, hip and the SA really assist you and will not bother you if you say so.

I crave for the FIERCE scent, the shirts, jeans and live mannequins, bwahahaha!

Well maybe this coming February, I will have one, or maybe two? Let's see...

Below are the A&F's Flagship stuff I LVoe!

Killburn Mountain Jacket $78

Northside Trail Blue Stripe $70

Northside Trail White Stripe $70

Boreas Mountain Tee $24 (sexy!)

Rollins Skinny Destroyed $98
