I always wanted to go back to Dubai, to see how this city developed. Three years ago, I saw the changes ahead... Burj Khalifa (formerly known as Burj Dubai) and the metro railway were being constructed, Air-conditioned waiting shed and more, more buildings.
It was overwhelming to see the country's progression. Amazing really! In a span of three years, a lot has been changed, Dubai and Abu Dhabi's landscapes were literally modified by these economic, cultural and social growth.
And just last night, I was surprised by a dear friend for a visit to the largest mall in the world, the Dubai Mall. A collection of high end shops and other brands, the skating rink and the Dubai Aquarium (an oversized, over the top one!). My jaw dropped seeing Chanel, Gucci, Alexander Mcqueen, Louis Vuitton, Pucci and more shops. People from different countries enhanced the color of the United Arab Emirates. It was chaotic in a nice way. I have seen most high end and mid class malls, almost around the world, and Dubai Mall is way at par with the rest.
The main event was seeing the "dancing fountain" overlooking the magnificent view of the tallest tower|building in the world, Burj Khalifa. It runs every 30 minutes, I felt like a child again. It was so relaxing, amusing and fun. The water dances to the tune of local sound and some classical tunes. I almost cried, really!
I appreciate small stuff like this and the experience last night will definitely be carved in my heart!
