Bill Reid | Spring | Summer 2011 Collection

Billy Reid unveils his 2011 Spring | Summer collection, fresh off his collaboration with Levi’s at New York Fashion Week. Channeling American workwear into the collection, inspiration was taken from the past in the form of double breasted tweed jackets, varsity sweaters, pleated trousers and doctor bags.
The color palette was neutral with cream, grey, brown and black rounding out the color story. Reid’s collections are consistent each season with his mixing of fabrics, attention to detail and creating garments that stand the line between being both tailored and casual.

Indochino "Hedonist" Collection

Online menswear retailer and tailor Indochino has just launched its Hedonist collection of suits – a tribute to the well dressed, badly behaved man.

We can honestly say we’re largely skeptical to the notion of online tailoring – a made-to-measure suit should be cut by a tailor in person to ensure the best possible fit, value, and quality. However, reviews for Indochino have been promising, with customers reporting on easy to follow measuring instructions, and quality pieces for the price point with friendly and helpful customer service. It seems like the place to go if you’re set on buying your suit at a distance.

The Hedonist collection features a return to opulence and luxury. Lapels are big (which should ease things for taller gents), and the cuts are all very sharp looking two-button affairs. They offer a velvet suit, which had us raising eyebrows at first, but could be carried off right by the right man. On the other hand, we have to admit that the Indochino three-piece Navy pinstripe manages to pull off a very tricky look very well. Three piece pinstripes are hard to carry off, and Indochino makes it look easy here.

Sixpack France goes with a very laid back, layered look for the Spring | Summer 2011 lookbook. It’s a continuation of the layering trend that looks to be big for the fall and winter. With many predicting a colder winter than ever, the line has plenty of warm pieces to deal with any lingering cold. Take it easy with a very casual, modern look from Sixpack France that should be great for those lazy Sundays.

It’s hard to beat denim when it comes to cold weather casual, and this Fall | Winter 2010 collection from Baldwin Denim is the perfect mix of casual pieces for the coming cold weather season. We see the usual heavier weight denim and workwear, but we also see some unstructured blazers, button-down shirts, and chinos that make up a beautiful business casual wardrobe.
